Fun Activities

Lots of bee-related activities to enjoy

First, we start with an introductory presentation and quiz. Everyone can show off their knowledge and polish up on their pollinator facts. We will bring in a demonstration hive (no live bees) as well as various beekeeping tools and equipment to explore.

After an energetic game to get everyone buzzing, we get stuck in to a carousel of different activities, including honey tasting if requested. Then, we round up the session with some inspiring tips to help to protect our pollinators and planet. Sessions start from £35/hour, £60 for two consecutive groups in the same venue, £90 for three (eg Beavers/Cubs/Scouts).

Longer (or multiple) workshops

Spot-the-Queen

As part of What’s-the-buzz, when the bees are active during the summer months (May to September), we can also bring in a live observation hive to your session. You will wonder at the intricate and amazing workings of the honeybee with this glass-sided hive. If lucky, you may even spot the queen laying an egg as she carries on with her all-important job.

The bees will be fully enclosed (nothing flying) in a glass-sided hive so your young people can get up close.

Spot-the-queen sessions are only available if you book for 2- or 3-hours (can be consecutive groups in the same venue). Two hours from £100, three hours £130
